Dick Estes
Founder / Sales & Marketing
|
|
Links: BLUE :: GROOVY :: PLAY
Dick has been in the incentive and promotion industry for more than 25 years. Pretty scary. He started his career at a little place called Maritz, where he was a lowly Project Head. After a few years of taking orders from others, Dick was promoted to Account Manager where he won numerous sales awards. Tired of making money for others, Dick and a partner started K Plus Incentives, in 1997. Two years later, he sold his interest back to his partner and went at it on his own and formed eIncentives. Dick built up his book of business again and in 2001, eIncentives was purchased by a much larger company that wanted to round out the technology side of their incentive offerings. This made Dick very happy! After much deliberation about what to do next with his career, Dick decided to go at it again one more time on his own and formed Motivation Technologies in September 2001. The decision couldn't have worked out better.
Dick started Motivation Technologies with one goal...to build the best technology solutions to assist its customers in surpassing their incentive, training and promotion goals. For almost ten years now, Dick and his loyal group of cohorts have been wowing clients with a wide array of cutting-edge technology.
When not overseeing the technology empire, Dick enjoys spending time with family and friends and loves to play hockey and golf.

Beat Bartlome
VP of Technology
|
Links: KONA :: PLAY :: BOFH
Started programming on the first Commodore 64 systems over 25 years ago and still a hacker at heart.
While still young, he is the most senior member of our development team (he was extremely saddened when all the
dinosaurs around him perished). When not busy training for the next 140.2 mile race or playing guitar,
he can usually be found preventing the internet from running out of disk space. And yes, "Beat" (pronounced "Bay-ot") is really his name; no spelling errors. Honestly!

Over her career, she has worked with numerous Fortune 100 clients in the design, development and management of various global initiatives. Leaving the print world behind, Mandy is now looking to focus her client and account management skills in the digital world.
Off the clock, Mandy is most likely spending time with family and friends. She enjoys traveling, photography, home improvement projects, live music and doing anything outside (camping, landscaping, walking the dog)...all while drinking a cold, adult beverage.

Jean Broadhacker
Project Coordinator / Support / Quality Control
|
|
Links: R&R :: SHOPPING :: THERAPY
Jean also started her career at the humble little place called Maritz. After 11 years at Maritz she moved on and was coerced back into the working world by Mr. Estes. He can be such a charmer. She didn’t know about the B-52's fixation at the time, but now that she does she’s been trying to hold an intervention. Thus far all attempts to rehabilitate Mr. Estes have failed.
Jean does a little bit of everything at Motivation Technologies – except programming – which she leaves to the tech-geeks who surround her.
In her free time she can be found prowling around town looking for signs with typos. They make her crazy. She is also a semi-professional shopper, so if you’re looking for something you know who to call…

Part project manager, part writer, and part 19th century pugilist, Greg began his career in non-profit communications. Though he loved the work, he departed when he realized that the industry was aptly named.
A baseball, travel, and music enthusiast, Greg hopes to one day sell the movie rights to his fictionalized memoirs, “Flirting with Breakfast.”

Daniel Howse
Web Designer/ActionScript Developer
|
Links: ADOBE :: ENFORCER :: CYBORG
Daniel is addicted to creativity. It consumes every aspect of his life … from his home, to his car, to even the way he visually interprets the world. He sees the world through the lens of a camera, always noticing the beauty in everything…from the way the concrete cracks on the sidewalk to how the sports score banners look on TV.
His first creative position was at the age of 8, when he began consigning comic book boxes to comic stores after drawing super heroes on them. His interest in computers began at an early age as well, building games with his uncle on a Commodore 64, a few years later in QBasic on the first personal IBM home computer, and by the 7th grade he had written the class curriculum for the schools QBasic classes. Although his love and passion is in Adobe Flash, he has also become well-versed in most programming languages used on the web.
Daniel is a fine artist at heart (profile picture is an original work). When not being a developer, he enjoys painting murals and drawing family portraits. His love for the arts and passion for technology led him into the field of software and web development.
If you asked Daniel today how he feels about his work, he would probably reply with, "A Developer is not a job title, but a lifestyle".

This knowledge at any early age has enabled him to quickly adapt to multiple programming languages.

Charlie Hogland
Junior Web Developer

Charlie spent his childhood years destructing his parents computers. As he got older, he realized that putting them back together was fun, plus it made his parents happy. By age 12, he was scanning IP addresses and playing Quake online. In his teenage years, Charlie began developing websites for friends and family. Now, at the ripe old age of 23, he is beginning his “adult work life” with Motivation Technologies. He still enjoys playing video games and developing websites, but has lost his childhood dream of hacking into his parent’s local computer and creating mayhem. Isn’t that everyone’s childhood dream?
